Pierce County Project Access (PCPA) Donated Care program is comprised of a network of over 550 providers who pledge to donate a set number of appointments to uninsured Pierce County residents living at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). When an uninsured patient requires specialty care, their primary care provider submits a referral to PCPA. Patients can only be enrolled through physician referrals. | Provides health care services access for low-income and uninsured individuals.

Road to Independence Van Program

Road to Independence Van Program offered at Puget Sound Educational Service District | https://www.psesd.org/programs-services/administrative-management-services/transportation | Provides transportation services to low income individuals seeking transportation in South King County and Pierce County seeking: - work, - a new job, - an already scheduled job interview, - an employment related training, - or any other appointments necessary to obtaining or retaining employment, and have no other transportation available. Rides must originate in Spanaway, Puyallup, Sumner, or Bonney Lake and services are able to go as far North as Renton and as far South as Tacoma. Transportation is only offered based on volunteer availability. | Administers Early Head Start, Head Start and Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) throughout King County outside of Seattle and Pierce County. Offers a paratransit program for employment related transportation needs to those who face barriers to accessing public transit.

Saint Vincent de Paul Pierce County

Mission Outreach

St. Vincent de Paul of Tacoma–Pierce County operates two service hubs that together provide a continuum of care for community members experiencing crisis, instability, or homelessness. The Community Resource Center, serves individuals and couples across Pierce County. The CRC offers walk-in access five days a week with no appointment required. Services include immediate basic-needs support such as food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and survival gear, as well as housing and shelter navigation for those experiencing homelessness. Case managers also provide assistance with mental health and substance use supports, and offer specialized navigation for Native and bilingual community members. The Family Resource Center, focuses on families with children, multigenerational households, and young adults ages 18–24. The FRC provides bilingual case management and resource navigation tailored to family and young-adult needs, including for Hispanic and immigrant populations. The site also offers on-site showers and laundry for unhoused households, along with comprehensive housing and shelter navigation designed to help families achieve stability. The Community Resource Center does not provide direct rental assistance. | Provides financial and material assistance, as well as comprehensive case management, to those facing an immediate crisis. Operates a Thrift Store that provides affordable clothing and household goods.

Structured Housing for Men

Offers a faith-based clean & sober housing program for men, providing structure and support. Assists in developing healthy, responsible decision-making in the lives of all participants.   Operates 17 residential programs in King County, 3 in Pierce County, 6 in Spokane County, 2 in Yakima County, and 2 in Whatcom County. Program involves character development programming, including the following:   -  Pastoral counseling -  Bible studies   -  House meetings   -  Recovery meetings -  Personal accountability meetings    -  Financial Planning meetings     Residents are encouraged to obtain employment. Employment assistance is offered through a network of supporting employers and organizations.     Also assists residents with the following:   -  Fulfilling DOC requirements, if needed -  Obtaining driver's license and/or ID card   -  DSHS Food stamps and public assistance -  Resume preparation and employment resources Participants are asked to commit to three months in the program, but can stay longer if desired. | Offers a faith-based transition program for MEN 18+ who are recovering from substance use disorder or addiction, those who are homeless, those being released from prison, or coming out of treatment programs, for successful re-entry into society.

Adult Services

Adult Services offered at Pierce County Human Services - Developmental Disabilities | Responsible for the administration of Employment and Community Access services for adults with developmental disabilities. Through partnerships with Employment Service Vendors, participants are supported in achieving community employment that offers competitive wages, an integrated work environment, and the opportunity for independence on the job. Support Services are individualized to meet each person's need on the job that are consistent with the participant's interest, skills, and employment goals. | Provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities in Pierce County, and their families, through contracts with various agencies in the community.

Pierce Transit

City of Buckley Free SHUTTLE

Pierce Transit, Pierce County and the City of Buckley collaborate to provide a temporary shuttle service to transport community members free of charge from several locations within the City of Buckley to the southern end of the Foothills Trail footbridge, in response to the closure of the White River Bridge connecting Buckley and Enumclaw following a strike by a vehicle. King County Metro has extended their bus service to pick up passengers on the northern end of the footbridge. This shuttle service will allow Buckley residents to more quickly and easily access the footbridge to reach work, appointments, school and resources in Enumclaw and beyond. The shuttle service will be available until the Washington State Department of Transportation has completed emergency repairs to the White River Bridge and reopens it to vehicle traffic. These shuttle vehicles are wheelchair accessible like all Pierce Transit buses and can accommodate all passengers. Pick-up locations are as follows: -River Road and Cemetery Road -Mount Rainier Creamery (out front on SR 410) -Buckley Shopping Center (Jefferson Ave. and SR 410) -Buckley Library (in front by bike racks and benches) -Grocery and Post Office (in parking lot) -New Buckley City Hall (811 Main St) -River Road and Cemetery Road Stop locations may be altered in the future based on need. | Provides public bus transportation to the residents of Pierce County.
